is a businessman who holds a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

He began his career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse in Zurich before working as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.

He then joined Credit Suisse as Chief Financial Officer and became CEO of Credit Suisse Switzerland before moving to UBS as Group Chief Operating Officer.

At UBS, Körner is currently the President of UBS Group Europe, Middle East, and Africa and is responsible for the implementation of regional strategy and collaboration of businesses across all divisions.

He is also the Chairman of the Widder Hotel in Zurich, Vice President of the board of Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, and a member of various other business boards.

In July 2022, Körner was appointed as the CEO of Credit Suisse after Thomas Gottstein resigned from the position.

Körner was born in Germany in 1962 and holds both German and Swiss citizenship. He attended school in Switzerland and Germany, acquiring a Swiss school-leaving certificate and a German school-leaving certificate before attending the University of St. Gallen.
