Julius Randle was born on November 29, 1994, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in a family of athletes, with his mother playing basketball and his father playing football.
Randle attended Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas, where he played basketball for the school team.
After completing his high school education, Randle was highly recruited by many universities.
Ultimately, he decided to attend the University of Kentucky, where he played for the Kentucky Wildcats for one season.
During his time at Kentucky, Randle was one of the most dominant players in the NCAA, averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds per game.
After his freshman year at Kentucky, Randle declared for the NBA draft and was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.
Randle played for the Lakers for four seasons before signing with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018.
