Valentina Shevchenko has a sibling by name Antonina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko was born on November 20, 1984, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the same city where her younger sister Valentina was born.
The sisters grew up in a family of martial artists, with their mother Elena Shevchenko and their late father Pavel Shevchenko both being accomplished martial arts practitioners.
Their mother is a 3rd dan black belt in taekwondo and was also a coach for the Kyrgyzstan national taekwondo team.
Antonina began training in martial arts at a young age, starting with taekwondo like her mother.
She later added kickboxing and Muay Thai to her skillset and went on to win multiple national and international championships in both sports.
Antonina also has a degree in architecture from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
Antonina made her professional MMA debut in 2003 and has since amassed a record of 12 wins and 3 losses.
She has fought for various promotions, including Lion Fight, Legacy Fighting Alliance, and most recently, the UFC.
