Phyllis Harrell was born in 1960 in New York City. She attended Montclair High School as well, where she was a standout athlete in track and field. After high school, she went on to attend Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Calvin and Phyllis met while attending Montclair High School and eventually got married. They have three children together: Devin, Jason, and their daughter, who is a doctor.
After college, Calvin McCourty went on to have a successful career in the electrical industry. He worked for the same company for over 30 years and retired in 2019. However, football has always been a big part of his life, and he has been involved with coaching youth football teams in their hometown of Nyack, New York.
Phyllis Harrell worked as a nurse for over 30 years. She started her career at Newark Beth Israel Hospital and then worked at several other hospitals in the area before retiring in 2018.
