Cookie Ridley was born in Philadelphia in 1971. Like DJ Moore Sr., she was an athlete in her youth. She played basketball and softball in high school, and was also an excellent student. After graduating from high school, she attended Cheyney University, where she played basketball.
After college, Cookie Ridley began working in the banking industry. She worked for several banks in Philadelphia before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she continued her banking career.
