A 19-year-old German field hockey player attending Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and competing in Division 1 was involved in a skiing accident
Anna Buhrmann, a first-year student, was involved in a skiing accident on March 6th while on spring break at Copper Mountain in Colorado.
Reports indicate that Anna collided with a tree while skiing, leading to an emergency surgery that lasted for seven hours.
After the accident, a GoFundMe campaign was set up by Kenzie Riccardi, a resident of Lakewood, Colorado, to raise funds for Anna’s treatment.
So far, the campaign titled “Anna’s recovery from her spinal cord ski accident” has raised $63,624, with a goal of reaching $100,000.
Despite the tragic circumstances, Anna has remained positive throughout the ordeal, even though her family is still in Germany.
The thoughts and prayers of the Sacred Heart University community and others go out to Anna’s family and friends.
