The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) posted on social media, expressing deep sorrow and extending condolences to the family and friends of Dodson. KHSAA executive Julian Tackett said that Dodson’s tragic death has affected the entire community, and they were stunned by the news.

Andrew Dodson Cause of death

The exact cause of the death of Andrew Dodson is yet to be determined by the officials. Many people have posted on social media, saying that he and his family needed prayer.

Dodson’s father, who is active in the Baptist Church, was recently employed with the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

Todd Gray, executive director of the organization, expressed his condolences and said that their hearts are broken for the Dodson family, and they will be praying for them in the days ahead.

Officials Investigate the Cause of Death

Tackett said that sudden deaths happening during spring practice were not common, except for heat or cardiovascular issues from incidents that occurred over a decade ago.

The KHSAA will investigate to make sure that nothing could have been done. The technology today is so good at preventing head injuries, or preventing things, Tackett added.
